NAPS2 is a free program that scans any documents directly to PDF and other types of files as simple as possible.
One click scan
NAPS2 easily scans with any selected settings. You can also configure multiple profiles for different devices and configurations. After scanning the resulting document, you can save the file in PDF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, etc., send an e-mail or print. To do this, you need to do just a couple of mouse clicks.
Compatible with WIA and TWAIN
Before scanning, you should choose the driver that works best with your scanner, and also set the necessary parameters such as DPI (resolution), page size, bit depth. You can scan from flatbed glass or automatic document feeder (ADF), including support for duplex mode (duplex printing).
Rotation, cropping and ordering function of scanned images
NAPS2 allows you to position pages at your own discretion, as well as with the help of integrated tools to alternate double pages. You can easily turn the page at a right angle or choose an arbitrary angle of rotation. The program has a sufficient set of tools for editing images, for example, to trim a document or change the brightness and contrast.
OCR text recognition
Thanks to the optical character recognition (OCR) function, text search in PDF files in any of 60 languages is possible.
The program is available in more than 20 different languages, including Russian.
NAPS2 tools for advanced users and businesses:
- additional command line interface (CLI) for automation and scripts;
- MSI installer and application-level configuration available for Group Policy Deployment (GPO);
- portable archives are available (no installation required).
