Clownfish is a specialized software that translates text messages to Skype on the fly. With this application, the user can correspond with foreigners in those languages that he does not know, but the functionality of Clownfish is not limited to this. Most users of the application change the voice with it. Now we will make a brief overview of the application functionality and learn how to use it.
Basic setting Clownfish
To improve the usability of the program, you must first switch to the Russian-language interface. This is done in the Preferences menu, we run Interface Language -> Russian.
It remains to make Skype interact with Clownfish without problems, for which, first run the messenger. A warning window will appear about attempts by a third-party application to access Skype resources, allow access to continue.
Clownfish: voice change
To activate the function to change the voice in Skype using Clownfish go to the menu "Change Voice". In this menu, the option "Listen to yourself" is available to listen to your own voice with a slight time delay. We recommend using this feature only when setting up, as it interferes with it during communication.
In the Change Voice -> Voices menu, you can select and configure voice parameters.
In the same menu, the function “Turn off” is available, after activating which the change of voice is turned off and the interlocutor is already beginning to hear the real voice.
In addition, in the Sound Effects section, activation of various sound effects is available, which should be pre-loaded and placed in the appropriate folder. It is worth noting that the program also supports VST effects, which expands its sound processing abilities at times.
Translation function in Clownfish
With Clownfish, instant messages in Skype can be translated into a large number of languages (more than 30). To activate the transfer you need to use the corresponding menu Clownfish.
If nothing is changed in the settings, each message will be translated to the default language in the Skype settings. If you need another language, then in “Select a translator” you need to select some service (out of 5) that is responsible for the translation in online mode and correct the settings. Suppose you’ve selected Google Translator as your service provider, and the other person speaks English. Then in the settings you need to select English as the incoming, as well as the required outgoing.
Call recording in Clownfish
If you select the Voice Recording menu, a window opens where you can specify the path to the folder with saved files and turn on / off the recording function at any time during the conversation.
In addition to the functions described, the Clownfish application allows you to send original greetings to your interlocutors, including pictures from emoticons, connect a chat bot, customize your own greetings, make mass mailings and many more useful options.
