The main purpose of this program is the implementation of management and cataloging of books in electronic format, as well as the transformation of e-books in other formats, converting feeds to e-book format, and of course synchronization with reader-programs.

Among the main features and functions of this application are the following:

• The function of managing the library is available. Calibre program is designed for cataloging electronic books. It allows you to store e-books in the database together with easily editable metadata, which allow to describe each book. Besides, one meta-note can be used for the one and the same electronic book in a variety of formats;
• The program supports sorting e-books in its database. The program sorts the data by: author, date, publisher, rating and file size.
• There is also support for additional metadata fields, such as the series to which the e-book belongs, additional comments, used to describe the content of the e-book, as well as tags that allow to classify the book;

There is also the function of metadata search available in the application.

• Here you can use the advanced search for books according to the available metadata, after hitting "Advanced Search", which is located on the left side of the search;

Calibre supports the possibility of converting large numbers of files. To convert any book, you should click on "Convert e-books".
